Safe. Trusted. Independent.
Advancing Trust in Global Medication Access
The International Medication Access Institute advances patient safety, transparency, and confidence in global prescription medication access through independent validation, education, and advocacy.
Why we exist
Trusted oversight for a borderless pharmacy.
As pharmaceutical supply chains expand, and patients increasingly seek affordable treatment options across international markets, healthcare providers, employers, insurers, and policymakers face growing challenges in identifying safe, reliable, and legitimate medication sources.
While global access has created important opportunities to improve affordability and availability, it has also increased the need for trusted independent oversight and validation.
The International Medication Access Institute was established to serve as an independent authority focused on evaluating and validating the safety, quality, and integrity of prescription medications and pharmaceutical sourcing channels worldwide.

Questions
Frequently asked
What does the seal of approval mean?
It means the product and its sourcing pathway have completed the Institute’s independent review — an evaluation of safety, quality, and integrity by experienced medical, scientific, regulatory, and industry experts.
Who carries out the review?
Medical, scientific, regulatory, and industry experts evaluate each submission against the five foundational pillars.
How does a product become certified?
Through four stages: submission, independent review, validation, and ongoing oversight. No product is certified without passing through each stage, and certified sources continue to be monitored, with the seal subject to renewal and revocation.
How do I check that a source is registered?
Enter the full certification ID shown with the product, for example IMAI-2026-021996. A match shows the product, strength, supplier, and status.
